Hi, I'm Micaela Jemison
Hello! I'm an Australian science communicator and bat ecologist. I'm passionate about science, education and environmental conservation.
I work with the amazing scientists from across the Smithsonian Institution to help bring their science to the world. I am also an environmental advocate, raising awareness about bat conservation.
I've made expert appearances on NBC's Today Show, NPR, NBC4, Australia's Ten Network and ABC radio.
I previously worked for Bat Conservation International, the world's largest bat conservation non-profit, as their Director of Communication & Public Engagement and their spokesperson. My passion for bats began when I started my career as a threatened species biologist for the Arthur Rylah Institute for Environmental Research. I'm a University of Melbourne science grad with a Masters in Communication from RMIT. I hope to spark curiosity in others and show how our natural world is not only amazing but worth saving.
