Hi, I'm Micaela Jemison

Hello! I'm an Australian science communicator, digital strategist and threatened species biologist. I'm passionate about science, community engagement and environmental conservation.

I work to give nature a voice with the dedicated environmental campaigners of the Wilderness Society and their Australia-wide community organising program Movement For Life. I am excited to be currently a part of building a nation-wide network of experts and community leaders working to end Australia's extinction crisis.

While I am a proud advocate for all nature, my first love will always be bats.

I've made expert appearances raising awareness about bat conservation on NBC's Today Show, NPR, NBC4, Australia's Ten Network and ABC radio.

My passion for bats began when I started my career as a threatened species biologist for the Arthur Rylah Institute for Environmental Research in Australia.

In the USA, I continued to advocate for science and conservation through my roles at Bat Conservation International and the Smithsonian Institution, the world's largest museum, education, and research complex.

My ultimate goal always is to spark curiosity in others and show how our natural world is not only amazing but worth saving.
